Rajouri, Dec 23: A thirty five years old woman who lost her three children due to mysterious illness in Badhaal village a few days ago died on Monday with authorities having taken up necessary medical investigation to ascertain cause of death which however is unclear as of now.
However, prima facie the medical experts reportedly indicated towards a general medical issue instead of symptoms resembling those with which her children died.
Razim Akhter (35) wife of Mohammad Rafiq resident of Badhaal Kotranka was brought to CHC Kandi on Sunday afternoon from where she was referred to Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Rajouri but she died in Rajouri hospital on Monday evening.
Official sources said that this fresh death has created a medical concern among authorities as the deceased is from a family that has witnessed three deaths already.
Earlier, the deceased’s three children Nazia Kouser (5), Ishtyaq Ahmed (9), Ashfaq Ahmed (12) died due to a mysterious illness that has already claimed eight deaths in remote Badhaal village of Kotranka in Rajouri.
Besides this family, another family got affected with this illness and its members including Fazal Hussain (40), his two sons and a daughter died due to this illness.
After today’s death, officials said, a medical probe has been launched and the body of the deceased woman has been kept in GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri for further medical examination.
Pertinent to mention here that sensing the gravity of the situation an immediate medical alert was sounded by government authorities with Jammu and Kashmir Government also intervening in the situation and high level teams from National Center for Virology, National Center for Disease Control, PGI Chandigarh and Indian Council of Medical Research conducted necessary medical sampling and testing.
