Vivo has unveiled OriginOS 6, its next-generation operating system, which the company claims offers a more seamless and intelligent user experience. According to Vivo, the new Origin Engine enables smooth collaboration among the system’s core modules—computing, storage, and display—to deliver an all-around optimised performance.
At the core of OriginOS 6 lies the 8+1 Ultra-Core Computing architecture, which prioritises critical tasks to enhance responsiveness. Vivo states that app cold-start speeds are improved by 18.5 per cent, while frame-rate stability sees a 10.5 per cent boost. Memory Fusion accelerates data loading by 106 per cent, and Dual Rendering increases animation performance by 35 per cent, keeping frame rates 11 per cent steadier even under heavy workloads.
The company’s industry-first Snap-Up Engine allocates computing power to high-demand actions such as ticket booking, keeping users one step ahead. Combined with faster app launches—up to 16 per cent quicker when opening 50 consecutive apps—and a 41 per cent improvement in touch response, the interface feels faster and more fluid.
Vivo’s latest flagship, the vivo X300 Pro, running OriginOS 6, has earned SGS certification for sustained smoothness, simulating five years of heavy usage.
Visually, OriginOS 6 focuses on design consistency, unifying elements such as colour, shape, icons, images, fonts, layout, and materials. Vivo has also introduced a new brand font, Vivo Sans2, which supports over 40 languages. For the first time, symbols feature fully variable and adjustable weight for improved legibility and flexibility.
The new OS adds more options for personalisation through the Lock Screen Grid, Home Screen Grid, and Flip Cards, while Origin Island surfaces real-time information at the top of the screen and remains visible even when switching apps.
Vivo has also integrated Vivo AI deeper into OriginOS 6 to enhance personal productivity and creativity. Key tools include Smart Call Assistant, DocMaster, AI Creation, and AI Search, which aim to simplify communication, document handling, content generation, and information retrieval. Enhanced AI features like Gemini and Circle to Search further expand the OS’s intelligent capabilities.
