Jammu, Oct 12: In a significant move to maintain public order and safety, the court convicted three individuals for obstructing road traffic and causing nuisance at Maheshpura Chowk, Bakshi Nagar and awarded them 5 days of community service.
As per the community punishment conditions, the convicted individuals will render their services at Government Medical College Jammu from 10 am to 4.30 pm, cleaning different wards.
These accused were detained by In-charge Police Post GMS Jammu PSI Tanvinder Singh and produced before court.
The convicted persons included Nadeem, son of Saddam, resident of Zalif Nagla, tehsil Milak of Rampur district in UP, at present Near Shiv Temple, Maheshpura Chowk; Bilal, son of Shakil Shah, resident of Laxmi Pur, in UP, at present Bakshinagar, Jammu and Fejan, son of Salim Qureshi, resident of Mirza Pur, at present Bakshinagar, Jammu.
The accused vendors were found guilty of blocking the road at Maheshpura Chowk, causing intense traffic jams. They were booked under Section 34 of the Police Act for causing obstruction on the road.
