LUCKNOW: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh will develop Lucknow as the country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) City and will launch a new AI policy soon to harness the power of emerging technology, particularly AI. The government is in talks with the top global and national technology companies to set up their AI centres in the state.

In a major step towards establishing Uttar Pradesh as a leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI), ETGovernment, which is an initiative of The Economic Times in association with the IT & Electronics Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, will host the third edition of the AI Vision Conclave on December 13, 2024, at The Centrum in Lucknow.

This year’s event, themed “Uttar Pradesh: Shaping The Future With Artificial Intelligence,” will bring together over 250 delegates from the government, academia, and leading AI and technology companies.

The Conclave marks a pivotal moment in Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious plan to create the country’s first AI city in Lucknow, a vision that aligns with the Government of India’s broader strategy to boost AI and technological innovation across the nation.

The inaugural session, titled ‘Charting Uttar Pradesh’s AI Future and AI City Project: Vision, Innovation, and Leadership’, will feature prominent speakers, including UP’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Excise and Prohibition Nitin Agarwal, Agriculture Production Commissioner Monika S. Garg; Principal Secretary of Basic Education Dr. Shanmuga Sundaram MK, Joint Secretary of New Emerging & Strategic Technology at the Ministry of External Affairs Mahaveer Singhvi; and Global Chairman and Managing Director of Sify Technologies Raju Vegesna.

In addition to the high-level discussions, one of the highlights of the event will be a Fireside Chat with Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director, South Asia at NVIDIA. The session, ‘AI for All: Building a Future Where AI Benefits Everyone,’ will delve into the social and economic implications of AI, exploring how the technology can transform lives and industries across India.

The AI Vision Conclave will feature four major plenary sessions addressing critical issues such as: Transforming Governance through Partnerships: The Role of AI in Public Sector Modernization; Nurturing AI Talent, Building a Future-Ready Workforce: Education, Training, and Innovation; Innovative AI Solutions in Action: Revolutionizing Agriculture and Healthcare and Navigating AI Policy: Frameworks for Safe and Effective AI Deployment.

The Conclave promises to be an enriching platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the identification of opportunities to accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s journey toward becoming India’s AI hub. With strong government backing, strategic investments in infrastructure, and a growing talent pool, Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as a trailblazer in the country’s AI revolution.
