Telangana High Court launches NSTEP to fast track criminal justice system, ET Government

HYDERABAD: Supreme Court Judge Justice BR Gavai on Saturday said that transparency and efficiency will increase further with the implementation of ‘National Service and Tracking of Electronic Processes (NSTEP)’ in the criminal justice system. While inaugurating NSTEP in Telangana, Justice Gavai said the criminal justice system will work with more efficiency and transparency with the issuance of e-summons through the system.Telangana, which was the first state to implement NSTEP in the civil justice, has now become the third state to implement this system in the criminal cases sector.

Justice Gavai, along with High Court Chief Justice Justice Alok Aradhe and DGP Jitender, launched ‘NSTEP’ at the Judicial Academy in Secunderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Gavai said that the criminal justice process will become easier through this online system. He said that summons and warrants will be directly received by the accused/court constables through NSTEP. “With the joint efforts of all of us, we are launching NSTEP under the auspices of the Telangana High Court,” he added.
