The teaser trailer of the fifth and final season of Prime Video’s hit superhero series The Boys was unveiled by the streamer on Sunday (December 7). The teaser, released at the CCXP Brazil, also announced that the final season will premiere on the streaming platform on April 8, 2026, with two episodes, followed by a new episode each week.

Following the events of the fourth season, we begin to see Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie imprisoned in a camp. But all is not lost. Butcher reappears and reassembles the team, along with Annie and Kimiko. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen,” reads the logline from Prime Video.

In one of the most haunting parts of the teaser, we see Homelander punch someone to death. Given how even the evil superpowered maniac seems to be bleeding, fans are speculating it’s a glimpse of a fight between Homelander and Soldier Boy.

Created by Erick Kripke, The Boys is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The series stars Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Tomer Capone, and Colby Minifie. Notably, the upcoming season also features Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins as guest stars, reuniting with their Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy.

The Boys season 5 is executive produced by Ennis, Robertson, and Kripke, along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Judalina Neira, Jessica Chou, Gabriel Garcia, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin and Jason Netter. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding the final season of the hit series, but fans can expect more from spinoffs such as Gen V, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, and the upcoming Vought Rising, starring Padalecki.
