Sun Pharmaceutical faces ₹65 lakh fine from customs for duty short payment, ET LegalWorld


Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has received an order passed by the Commissioner of Customs (Appeal), Mumbai-III on December 12, 2024

The statutory authority has imposed a redemption fine of ₹ 40,00,000/- instead of confiscation of imported goods under Section 125(1) of Customs Act 1962 and a Penalty of ₹ 25,20,152/- imposed under Section 114 A of Customs Act 1962.

The fine relates to the short payment of customs duty.

“There is no material impact on the Company’s financial, operation or other activities,” Sun Pharma said in an exchange filing.

The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
