Suicide bombing kills 5, injures 7 in northeastern Afghanistan

New Delhi, Feb 11: A suicide bombing near a Kabul Bank branch in Afghanistan’s northeastern Kunduz province killed at least five people and wounded seven others on Tuesday morning, local police reported.

The explosion occurred in the morning hours with victims including the bank’s security guard, civilians, and members of the ruling Taliban, officials said to local media.

While the number of bombings and suicide attacks in Afghanistan has significantly decreased since the Taliban took power in August 2021, sporadic violence continues to pose a threat to security across the country.
