Srinagar- Jammu NH remains open for 2 way traffic

Ramban, Oct 13: The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway (NH) remained open for two way traffic of light medium vehicles on Sunday.

However, authorities said traffic movement remained slow due to on foot movement of nomads with their live stocks towards Jammu, and breakdown of five heavy vehicles besides single lane road stretches at Dalwass, and Mehar Cafeteria and between Maroog and Kishtwari Pathar area falling between Nahsri and Banihal sector of National Highway.

Meanwhile, the traffic department issued a fresh advisory for Monday stating that subject to fair weather and good road conditions light medium and heavy vehicles would be allowed to ply on either side on Highway.

They advised light medium vehicle operators not to undertake journeys on Highway due to apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal and due to movement of nomads from Kashmir to Jammu may cause inconvenience to commuters.

They advised light vehicle operators to prefer journeys on National Highway during the day time only.
