Ramban, May 15: Despite inclement weather warnings issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles for Kashmir on Thursday.
However, traffic authorities said the movement of traffic remained slow due to breakdown of few heavy vehicles, single lane road stretches at Mehar Cafeteria stretch of Ramban, and other locations between Ramban and Banihal sectors.
The said private cars and passenger LMVs had been allowed to move in both directions while heavy vehicles had been allowed to move towards Kashmir.
Officials at Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Ramban late Thursday evening said that the highway was open for two-way traffic of LMVs and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles.
