Srinagar-Jammu National Highway open for 2-way traffic

Ramban, Feb 16: The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) and heavy vehicles but traffic movement remained slow due to the ongoing four-lane construction works and single-lane road stretches at different places between Nashri and Banihal on Sunday.

The traffic authorities said that the movement of traffic remained slow due to the breakdown of a few vehicles and four-lane construction work at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria stretch and between the Maroog and Kishtwari Pathar stretch between the Nashri and Banihal sectors of the highway.

The traffic authorities monitoring the regulation in Ramban said that despite slow traffic movement, hundreds of LMVs and heavy vehicles and oil and gas tankers plied towards their respective destinations in Srinagar and Jammu.

They said that LMVs and heavy vehicles were crossing the Nashri-Banihal stretch of the highway towards Kashmir and Jammu though at a slow pace.
