Soz visits Srinagar areas to asses public issues

Srinagar, Nov 10: Former Union Minister, Prof Saifuddin Soz , today visited Safa Kadal, Nawa Kadal, and Aali Kadal areas here to  assess public issues

According to a press release, he also paid  obeisance at the Roza of Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA) and Hazrat Mulla Mohammad Ahmad Saheb (RA). Soz prayed for peace and tranquility of the region. The former union Minister also visited Shallabug wetlands which has wholly dried up and demanded immediate attention of the district administration.

Giving details, the press release said to assess the on spot issues and problems of the people living in Shahr-e-Khaas, Soz on Sunday undertook an extensive tour of various areas of historic Sher-e-Khaas particularly Safa Kadal, Nawa Kadal and Aali Kadal areas. He met various groups of people there who apprised him about the difficulties they face, in routine.

Delegations of Sher-e-Khaas comprising young and old people apprised Prof Soz about the developmental concerns, particularly the drainage water flowing directly into Jhelum near Nadal Kadal bridge and elsewhere. People of Nawa Kadal also put forth their demand of constructing a marriage hall, retention walls at various places on the bank of River Jhelum and fencing of the graveyard near Nawa Kadal Mosque. On this occasion, Prof Soz assured the various groups of people assembled there that he will take up these issues with the state administration and seek their redressal.

Later, Prof Soz also visited Aali Kadal Srinagar where the locals apprized him about the apathy of the local administration by delaying the fencing of the Aali Kadal Bridge which was already sanctioned by the administration, months ago.

Prof Soz also paid obeisance at the Shrine of Hazrat Syed Abdul Rehman – Bulbul Shah Saheb (R.A) and Hazrat Alama Mulla Muhammad Ahmad Saheb (R.A) and prayed for peace and tranquility for the J&K State.

While concluding his old city tour, he also visited Shallabug Wetlands which has, unfortunately, wholly dried up by now.
