Shah Rukh Khan gets threat call; Mumbai Police register case

Srinagar, Nov 7: Indian film star Shah Rukh Khan Thursday reported to have received a threatening call.

Following this, the police in Mumbai registered a case and deputed a team to the Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur after they traced the location through of the caller, NDTV reported.

The police team found that a young man named Faizan had allegedly made the call.

The call comes as another Indian film star Salman Khan has also received multiple death threats, reportedly by an Indian terrorist Lawrence Bishnoi.

Last month, a senior leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was shot dead.

The killing of Baba Ziauddin Siddique, an influential politician who was part of the coalition governing Maharashtra state – of which Mumbai is the capital – has set off a political blame-game.

Siddique was close to the two ‘Khans’.

The motive for his murder is not clear yet, but for many it has brought back memories of the 1990s, when politicians and film stars were frequently targeted by Mumbai’s underworld.

Police have arrested three people so far and say investigations are continuing. Local media reports say the arrested men are part of a notorious gang whose leader, Bishnoi is currently in jail.
