Rajouri, Oct 22: A scrap shop was gutted in a massive fire that broke out in the middle of Nowshera town market on Tuesday, triggering panic among locals.
Eyewitnesses said flames suddenly erupted from the shop and soon engulfed the entire structure, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air.
The blaze caused chaos in the busy market area as traders and residents rushed to safety.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel immediately launched a massive fire-fighting operation that continued for nearly six hours.
Officials said the fire tender had to be refilled at least eight times to completely douse the flames.
Though the shop suffered extensive damage, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire was being ascertained.
