Jammu, Nov 6: Vice President and Rajya Sabha chairman C P Radhakrishnan Thursday administered the oath (affirmation) to Sat Sharma, the newly elected Member to the Upper House of the Parliament from Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP national president J P Nadda; the Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh; BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K Affairs Tarun Chugh; BJP MLAs from J&K Vikram Randhawa, Arvind Gupta besides the members of Sat Sharma’s family were present when he (Sat Sharma) took oath at the Parliament House in New Delhi.
Sat Sharma, who is J&K BJP president, took oath in Hindi.
He contested the 2014 assembly elections from Jammu West and served as a cabinet minister till April 2018. He earlier also served as J&K BJP chief from 2015 to 2018.
Sat Sharma is a staunch RSS ideologue and Chartered Accountant by profession.
Having started his active political career in 1997, Sat Sharma had also held several positions in the party and worked to strengthen it at all levels as treasurer, general secretary, in-charge BJP cells, Secretary, election campaign committee of BJP from time to time. In his professional career he has also remained Secretary, J&K Branch of NIRC of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1995 and its chairman in 1997.
