Samsung has launched its first ever glasses free 3D OLED monitors. The new gaming monitors are part of the company’s Odyssey series and support 4K 240Hz gaming.
Designed to offer an immersive gaming experience without compromising on performance, the new Odyssey G8 is available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes. The Odyssey G8 (G81SF model) also happens to be the world’s first 4K OLED monitor with a 140Hz refresh rate, while the Odyssey G9 (G91F model) is a 49-inch ultrawide monitor with dual QHD display and 1000R curved screen, letting gamers play in 32:9 or 21:9 aspect ratios.
Odyssey 3D
The Odyssey 3D monitor also features advanced eye-tracking technology and view mapping algorithms, with the Reality Hub app automatically detecting content and giving users the option to play it in 3D. Samsung said it has partnered up with Nexon for The First Beserker: Khazan to optimise its new 3D technology.
Apart from glasses-free 3D support, the Odyssey monitor also features AI powered video conversion, 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response. It also comes with built-in speakers with support for Spatial Audio and AMD FreeSync support.
Odyssey G9
The VESA DisplayHDR 600 and HDR10+ certified Odyssey G9 has a refresh rate of 144Hz, offers 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium. It also gets Samsung’s picture-in-picture modes and has an Auto Switch+ feature that makes switching between devices a breeze.
The Odyssey 3D G90XF costs Rs 1,27,299, while the Odyssey G8 27-inch and 32-inch models are priced at Rs 91,299 and Rs 1,18,999 respectively. Lastly, the Odyssey G9 49-inch ultrawide model can be purchased for Rs 94,099. These monitors are available on Samsung India website, e-commerce platforms and retailers across India, with Samsung offering launch benefits of up to Rs 10,000.
