JAIPUR: Keeping its focus on land allotment, Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO) is allotting land parcels at an expeditious rate facilitating seamless implementation of the MoUs signed during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024, an official release said on Thursday.

Two land parcels of 5-acre each were allotted to the Gurugram-based Sunkind Photovoltaics at a lightning speed, fast-tracking the pace of setting up the manufacturing unit in Jaipur’s Mathasula Industrial Region. The company will manufacture solar PV module with an annual capacity of 1.5 GW, a key component of a solar power project as source of green energy.

The company had approached RIICO in May 2024 seeking suitable land parcels for its project. The RIICO officials facilitated for suitable size of land parcels and e-auction of the land parcel expeditiously and gave other key approvals for handing-over of the land parcels to the company. The company got the possession of a 5-acre land parcel in July, in less than 60 days since it first approached RIICO.

Subsequently, another 5-acre industrial land plot was allotted to the company in the month of November last year. The company during this period had also signed an MoU with the Government of Rajasthan for the same project proposing a capital investment of ₹200 crore under the ambit of the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024.

Highlighting the critical role of land allotment in the successful implementation of the investment proposals, Ajitabh Sharma, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce and Chairman RIICO, said, “RIICO’s central objective is to not only provide a suitable land parcel to the concerned project proponent but also go about the whole process in a transparent and accountable manner. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, we are adopting a whole-of-government approach to handhold all investors, understand their requirements and facilitate land allotment in a fast-track mode.”Shivangi Swarnkar, MD, RIICO, said, “RIICO remains committed to streamlining all the key processes related to land allotment. Land is the key requirement for the launch of any industrial venture and we are taking all necessary steps to facilitate its availability to the investors in a fast-tracked manner.”

Virpal Yadav, Director and Group Chief Operation Officer, Sunkind Energy, said, “The pro-active response demonstrated by RIICO at all stages of land allotment ranging from organizing the e-auction process to eventually handing over the land parcel was praiseworthy. The company is getting a fair amount of support from the Industries Department in developing other amenities on the land parcel. Thanks to this fast-paced approach, we are aiming to commence the 1st phase of operations by 2025-end.”

The second phase of the project is expected to launch its operations by the end of 2026 and the proposed manufacturing unit, after the launch of phase 2, is expected to generate over 800 jobs, Yadav added.
