Notably, Independent Lok Sabha MP from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir, Engineer Rashid surrendered at Tihar Jail on Monday after his interim bail in a terror-funding case currently being investigated by the NIA expired.
“I will tell the people of Jammu Kashmir that truth is with us . we want peace and Development in Jammu and Kashmir but we also want our rights back for the you will keep me in Tihar and anywhere we have to be strong. jail can’t me bend.” he added
Engineer Rashid said that he will support CM Omar Abdullah wherever he does good work.
“We hope CM Omar Abdullah should fulfil all his promises, wherever he will do good I will support him and wherever he won’t work in favour of Kashmiris, We will adjust tooth and nail democratically,” he told ANI.
“I will say to the people of Jammu and Kashmir not to be afraid of going me to jail, we will fight and win. we have not committed a crime. I am not bothering to go to jail. there is only one feeling that i will stay away from my people. Be courageous, Have patience. Truth is with us we will win and I will keep talking about Kashmiris till we die. After spending five and half years in jail once again I have to go to jail there is no problem we hope justice will be done”. he added
Engineer Rashid condemned the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the people of the Union Territory are against violence. He urged all stakeholders to come together and engage in dialogue to resolve the issue.
“We are against any violence. There is a need for reconciliation; all stakeholders should come and talk… For peace to be restored, we must not forget the principles upheld since 1947. Peace cannot be achieved without justice, and justice can only occur when all stakeholders come together at the table to discuss solutions” he told ANI.
He accused Farooq Abdullah of changing his stand on Pakistan, saying that Abdullah expresses one opinion when he is in power and another when he is out of power.
“When he is in power, he expresses one opinion, but when he is out of power, he expresses a different one. Omar Abdullah follows a similar pattern. Since 1947, his party has maintained a double standard. However, the time will come when the people will teach them a lesson. They secured votes using Article 370, but now they are not even mentioning it,” he said.
