Rajouri girl qualifies AMC exam to become officer in army

Rajouri, May 15: A 24 years old girl from Dalogra village of Rajouri has qualified examination of Military Nursing Services under Army Medical Corps to become a Lieutenant spreading a wave of joy and celebrations in entire area.

Daughter of Ravinder Singh and Ravinder Kour, Jasmeet’s father Ravinder runs his mini-flour mill in village and has three daughters.

Jasmeet, who pursued her Nursing Bachelor Degree, was selected as Community Health Officer (CHO) in Health and Medical Education Department J&K Government and is presently posted in Nowshera medical block of the district.

” I was doing my duty as CHO but my dream was to done an army uniform as an officer and to serve my nation by being a part of highly disciplined, recognised and elite force of army,” Jasmeet said.

Only last year she came to know about examination under Military Nursing Service in Army Medical Corps and applied for this examination. “ I had to work hard with dedication and zeal and efforts that have produced the results,” Jasmeet said.

Her mother, Ravinder Kour, a housewife narrated about a dream in which she wanted to see one among her three daughters as an army officer.

” I used to see women army officers travelling in army vehicles on road in front of my house and this had spark a dream in my eyes and I always wanted to see one of my daughter among three to be an army officer,” said Kour who expressed her joy that her daughter is selected now.

Jasmeet has been asked to join on June 2 in Jaipur after which her period of training will start. Her parents while expressing happiness over her success said that every daughter in the society can excel in any field provided she is given good education facilities and confidence.
