Rajasthan Tourism and Film Policies to Boost Investment and Global Appeal, ETGovernment

Rajasthan is set to unveil its much-anticipated Tourism Policy and Film Policy, aiming to boost tourism, attract investments, and position the state as a global destination for heritage, culture, and film production.

Speaking to ET Government, Rukmani Riar, Commissioner of Tourism, highlighted that the policies will be designed to create a win-win for travellers, hoteliers, and filmmakers.

“The tourism policy will provide incentives and support to enhance travel experiences, while the film policy will attract filmmakers with subsidies, logistical assistance, and other benefits. These initiatives reflect Rajasthan’s commitment to sustainable growth in the tourism and creative sectors,” she said.

The policy focuses on promoting domestic and international tourism, enhancing infrastructure, and supporting hoteliers and travel operators. It comes at a time when Rajasthan is witnessing record domestic tourist inflows, with hotspots such as Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Mount Abu, Ranthambore, Banswara, Dungarpur, and Pushkar seeing high occupancy and visitor numbers this season.

Riar also pointed to growing interest from international markets, particularly Japan, where she recently represented Rajasthan at the JATA (Japan Association of Travel Agents) Festival.

The state’s pavilion showcased its culture, heritage, cuisine, and iconic experiences like the Palace on Wheels, drawing attention from Japanese tourists and travel agencies eager for direct connectivity with Rajasthan.

In parallel, the Rajasthan Tourism Department is organising a Pre-Investment Summit to engage investors in discussions on the state’s growth story and hold final consultations with those who have already completed the groundbreaking for their projects. The summit aims to strengthen tourism infrastructure, encourage private investment, and expand Rajasthan’s visibility on the global tourism map.

With these policies and initiatives, Rajasthan is not only enhancing visitor experiences but also creating a conducive environment for investment, cultural exchange, and film production, Riar added.

The launch of the Tourism and Film Policies will mark a strategic moment for the state, signalling Rajasthan’s ambition to blend its heritage appeal with modern incentives, thereby attracting more travellers, investors, and filmmakers in the years to come.
