Rajasthan has recorded a 19.45 per cent decline in overall crime over the past two years, according to state police and National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data.
The NCRB figures, available up to 2023, show that the downward trend has continued in 2024 and 2025, said the state police. A comparison of crime data for 2023 and 2024 showed that cases against women fell from 45,450 to 36,563.
Crimes against Scheduled Tribes declined from 8,449 to 7,008, while cases against Scheduled Castes fell from 2,453 to 2,282. Economic offences also dipped slightly from 27,675 to 27,637. Overall IPC and BNS crimes decreased from 2,34,985 in 2023 to 2,13,352 in 2024.
According to Dinesh M N, Additional Director General of Police, Crime, Rajasthan, the downward trend in crime continues into 2024 and 2025. The figures reflect a consistent decline in offenses, including those against women, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes, as well as economic crimes.
The reduction in crime comes amid continued efforts by the Rajasthan Police to register and investigate complaints efficiently. Data from the state’s crime branch suggest that the overall volume of crimes has fallen across categories, and the trend appears to be sustained.
While the NCRB data formally cover only up to 2023, the state-level reports for 2024–25 indicate that Rajasthan has maintained a reduction in criminal activities. The figures show that all major categories of crime, including those against vulnerable groups and financial offenses, have experienced a decline.
Detailed figures for 2025 are expected later this year.
