Rajasthan registered 16 per cent rise in its merchandise exports during 2024-25 period, according to data released by the Union government. During the period, the state’s exports stood at ₹97,171.68 crore in 2024–25, up from ₹83,704.24 crore in 2023-24.
State’s Industries and Commerce Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore attributed this performance to a series of policy interventions undertaken by the state government in recent years. These include the Rajasthan Export Promotion Policy-2024, Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS-2024), the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, the MSME Policy-2024, and the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit-2024. According to the minister, these measures are beginning to show results by expanding market access and providing exporters with incentives and support mechanisms.
The latest figures also highlight continued momentum in the current financial year. In the first quarter of 2025–26 (April–June), Rajasthan’s exports reached ₹25,212.14 crore. This represents a year-on-year growth of 14.37 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2024–25. Officials noted that sustaining this pace through the remaining quarters will be critical for maintaining overall annual growth.
Key sectors like gems and jewellery, engineering goods, textiles, handicrafts, agro and food products, plastic products, and leather products contributed to the overall growth. These sectors not only contributed to higher export volumes but also generated employment opportunities, particularly in small and medium enterprises engaged in supply chains.
Officials from the Industries and Commerce Department indicated that rising exports are having a multiplier effect on the state’s economy. Increased demand for Rajasthan’s goods in international markets has supported job creation in both rural and urban areas. Handicrafts, textiles, and agro-based industries have particularly benefited, as they rely heavily on local raw materials and labor.
