“The creation of RIMS will make Rajasthan a leader in advanced medical services and also promote medical tourism. The state government has made adequate budgetary provisions to ensure its establishment,” Singh said. He added that the project is expected to be completed within two years.
Highlighting its importance, Singh said RIMS will offer free treatment to eligible patients under government health schemes, ensuring access to high-quality healthcare for all sections of society. The institute will also ease the burden on other government hospitals across the state.
“Rajasthan is committed to providing quality healthcare to its citizens. With RIMS, super-specialty treatment will reach new dimensions in the state. This autonomous institute will serve as a milestone in healthcare infrastructure,” the minister noted.
The Bill further empowers the state government to declare any constituent or affiliated college of the university as a government medical college. In such cases, the administrative control, along with all land, buildings, laboratories, and assets of the college, will vest with the state government.
The establishment of RIMS reflects Rajasthan’s larger healthcare vision, aligning with the state’s focus on strengthening infrastructure and medical education while ensuring affordable and accessible treatment for the public. With its planned state-of-the-art facilities and emphasis on super-specialty care, RIMS is expected to attract not only patients from across Rajasthan but also from neighboring states, significantly contributing to the growth of medical tourism.
By creating a healthcare institution on par with AIIMS, the state aims to reduce the need for patients to travel outside Rajasthan for advanced treatment, thereby transforming Jaipur into a hub for world-class healthcare in the coming years.
