The Rajasthan Housing Board has launched five new housing schemes in different districts of the state, adding 667 houses and flats to its portfolio. The schemes were announced on Wednesday at the Housing Bhawan in Jaipur by Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra.
According to the official statement, the new projects will be spread across Bundi, Baran, Barmer, Dholpur and Udaipur. In Bundi district, 72 independent houses will be constructed in the Nainwa housing scheme. Baran’s Atru scheme will include 189 independent houses.
Barmer’s Langera housing scheme will provide 200 units for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low-Income Group (LIG) categories. In Dholpur, 64 flats are planned under the Bari Road scheme, while Udaipur’s Paneria ki Madri project will have 142 flats for EWS and LIG categories. The starting cost of the units ranges between ₹7.60 lakh and ₹12.45 lakh, depending on the category and location.
Minister Kharra said the schemes are part of the government’s efforts to expand housing opportunities for different income groups. He added that the projects will be implemented within fixed timelines and in a transparent manner to ensure beneficiaries receive standard facilities.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, who also attended the launch, said that the Housing Board continues to be a preferred option for people seeking affordable homes. He recommended that similar projects be initiated in Bikaner to address housing needs in that region.
The Housing Board had earlier launched five schemes in May this year, offering 427 units in Jaipur, Baran, Bundi and Dholpur. With the latest announcement, the Board has added significantly to the state’s housing stock, especially in smaller districts.
The launch event was attended by Housing Board Chairman Debashish Prusti, Housing Commissioner Rashmi Sharma, Secretary Anil Paliwal, Chief Engineer Amit Agrawal and other senior officials, along with public representatives and citizens.
Officials said the schemes will be opened for registration shortly, and detailed guidelines, including eligibility criteria and allotment process, will be made available through the Housing Board’s official channels.
The initiatives are expected to provide relief to families in lower and middle-income groups, particularly in districts where affordable housing demand has been growing steadily.
