Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Limited (RIICO) has issued an offer letter to PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Private Limited to set up an electric bus manufacturing unit in the Ghiloth Industrial Area. The company has been allocated 2,65,329 square meters (65.56 acres) of land, at an estimated land cost of around ₹208 crore.
The proposed project involves an investment of approximately ₹1,200 crore. It is expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for over 500 people. The project is part of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the state government and the company during the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit.
RIICO completed the land allocation process through the e-auction procedure. The project aims to contribute to the development of the state as a hub for e-mobility and promote electric transportation.
State’s focus on industrial growth
The electric bus manufacturing unit will support industrial activity in the Ghiloth Industrial Area and is expected to have an impact on employment and local supply chains.
The investment is aligned with Rajasthan’s ongoing focus on industrial development and e-mobility infrastructure. The project will involve the construction of manufacturing facilities, assembly lines, and supporting infrastructure to produce electric buses.
Officials stated that the project will help meet the growing demand for electric public transport in the region and provide opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled labour. It will also involve procurement of materials, components, and services from local and regional suppliers.
The land allocation and project approvals follow standard procedures under RIICO’s guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The project is expected to commence operations once the necessary clearances and construction work are completed.
This investment represents one of the largest industrial projects in the Ghiloth Industrial Area in recent years and is expected to attract related businesses and suppliers to the region.
The government also expects the project to contribute to the production capacity for electric buses in India and support the transition towards environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
