Property of terror accused attached under UAPA in Mendhar: Police

Poonch, Oct 26: Immovable property belonging to a terror accused was attached in Mendhar, Poonch area of Pir Panjal region under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

A statement of the Police issued here said that the Police in Poonch attached immovable property belonging to a terror accused involved in case FIR No 177/2024 of Police Station Mendhar, registered under sections 13, 18, 20, and 38 of the UAPA, 1967.

Police said, during the investigation, land measuring 17 kanals and 2.5 marlas, falling under Khewat Nos 13 and 19 at Village Kalaban, has been attached under Section 25 of the UAPA Act, 1967, after following due legal process.

It said that the property was found registered in the name of Muhammad Jahangir, son of Muhammad Hussain, of village Kalaban, presently in PoK, who is a wanted terror accused in the instant case.

Police said that the approximate market value of the attached property is estimated at Rs 70 lakh.
