‘Poor healthcare services cause of concern’

Rajouri, Jan 21: Muhammad Rafiq, a resident of Badhaal village in Rajouri, has been left devastated after losing three children and his wife to a mysterious illness that has claimed 17 lives in the past one and a half months.

Days after the tragedy, Rafiq alleged, “Poor healthcare services provided at the Jammu hospital were a major cause of concern and led to the death of my third child.”

He alleged that his one child could have been saved had the healthcare services been better there.

In a heart-wrenching account, Rafiq revealed that his child, who was hospitalized at Jammu’s SMGS hospital, was not treated properly.

“My child remained there for six days but he was not attended to properly and was left there to die,” Rafiq alleged adding that his child died while being referred to Chandigarh.
