Poonch, June 01: In a move to maintain law and order in the society, the Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday booked a person for attempting to disturb peace and social harmony in the society through the misuse of social media platforms. The person was identified as Ajaz Ahmad S/O Mohd Bashir Sheikh R/O village Salian, a police official said.
In a statement issued to the Greater Kashmir, police said, “To maintain law and order in the region, Ajaz Ahmed has been booked under preventive detention and sent to judicial lockup. This proactive measure underscores the commitment of the Poonch Police to ensuring public safety and security.”
“This proactive step highlights the firm commitment of District Police Poonch towards maintaining communal harmony, public order, and the safety of all citizens.” it added
The general public is urged, the police said, to use social media platforms with utmost responsibility and report any such instances of misuse to the nearest police station.
“All social media platforms are being monitored & Poonch Police is committed to take strict actions against any element trying to disturb peace in the region,” it added.
