Jammu, March 25: Amid uproar in the Assembly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday appealed to protesting daily wagers to call off their strike and talk to the designated committee.
“I appeal to these daily wagers to end their strike and present their demands before the committee,” Abdullah said.
He assured the House that a committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, had already been formed to address their concerns.
However, as chaos erupted between the treasury and opposition benches, BJP MLAs staged a walkout in protest against the government’s stance on the regularisation of daily wagers.
