BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief secretary Manoj Ahuja‘s service period was extended for one year with effect from Jan 1, 2025. His tenure was to expire on Dec 31. The appointment committee of the cabinet extended Ahuja’s service period by an order on Friday.

A 1990-batch IAS officer, Ahuja was appointed as chief secretary in July after the new govt took over. In June, the Centre gave its nod to allow Ahuja, who was on central deputation, to return to Odisha. He succeeded 1989-batch IAS officer Pradeep Kumar Jena as the chief secretary.
