Jammu, Nov 14: Leader of Opposition (LOP) and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Sharma on Friday said that the National Conference (NC) was facing an unmistakable political decline, saying the party’s “hollow palace is crumbling” as people across Jammu and Kashmir reject its outdated politics and empty promises.
In a statement issued here, Sharma said that he had earlier predicted NC’s defeat in the Budgam seat, and the public mood now clearly reflects that sentiment.
“People are fed up with the hollow promises and emotional exploitation that NC has practiced for decades. The hollow palace of NC is getting demolished day by day,” he said.
He said the downfall of NC had already begun, marked first by its setback in Nagrota and now by its defeat in Budgam.
“Nagrota was the first signal. Budgam further confirmed that the people have moved beyond NC’s politics of convenience, wanting a leadership that delivers,” Sharma said.
The LOP said that the BJP represents genuine change, development, and accountability, while the NC has failed to evolve or address people’s needs.
He said that the public is aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of peace, progress, and empowerment, rejecting the old politics of deception.
Sharma thanked the people of Nagrota for choosing the BJP with trust and confidence, and he extended gratitude to the people of Budgam for decisively rejecting the NC’s politics of hollow promises and double standards.
He said that the BJP would continue working with sincerity and commitment to fulfill the aspirations of the people across J&K.
