‘Namaz is therapy’: Munawar Faruqui says he fell in love with wife Mehzabeen after they decided to get married | Bollywood News

Munawar Faruqui was enjoying his newfound fame in 2023, when he participated on Bigg Boss. His love life was starting to become a subject of gossip, and as soon as Munawar got out of the show in January 2024, he found that his popularity had multiplied. And just as he was experiencing the peak of his success, he decided to get married to Mehzabeen Abdul Rehman. In a recent interview, Munawar explained what led to this decision, and also spoke about what he has learnt from his wife.

In a chat with Prakhar Gupta on his YouTube channel, Munawar shared, “I was getting unlimited attention after Bigg Boss, and in that moment, I was thinking, ‘what am I even doing?’ I only want to be loved by one person and I want a family. This is the right time that I should get married’.” While Munawar’s ex-girlfriends were often discussed during his time on the reality show, the world was surprised when he married Mehzabeen, a woman he met after Bigg Boss and married three months later.

“She came into my life and we decided to get married, and after that, we fell in love. I am very blessed and I am so happy that I made that decision,” he said. Munawar had also been married previously, and from that marriage, he has a son named Mikael. Talking about his previous heartbreak, he said, “After that experience in my life, I was behaving like a villain. I started hating the world. I felt everyone was selfish and everything was temporary. Mentally, I was in that place.” He added, “When you talk about therapy, I know that namaz is therapy.”

Him and his wife are raising two kids together – his son from a previous marriage, and her daughter from a previous marriage. When asked what he had learnt from his wife, Munawar said that he believes that she is more practical when it comes to raising kids. “I have learnt the art of valuing people from her. She knows how to value people. The way she takes care of kids… It’s not like she showers them with unlimited love, no, she is very practical that some things are not okay for a child,” he said.

He shared that they had an argument a few days ago, and that’s when he realised that she was thinking about raising their kids in a holistic way. “A few days ago, we had an argument about something. I was telling her that if the kid is asking for water, don’t make him wait like this. She said, yes, he is provided with water whenever he wants but she said, see, this won’t always be the situation. It is important to prepare the kids for whatever might happen. And then I realised, yes, how can I ever forget that? Here, you are thinking that you have to do well and provide for your kid, and they are getting it too, but at the same time, you have to prepare them for the reality that you should know how to get a glass of water for yourself. They shouldn’t think that water just appears when you yell for it. So these little things that you tend to overlook as a father, she can see it minutely,” he said.
