Rajouri, Jan 18: Member of Parliament from Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmed visited the remote Budhaal village of Rajouri on Saturday.
The village has witnessed 16 mysterious deaths in the past one month and a half, while the cause is still unknown.
Mian Altaf Ahmed met the victims’ families, offering condolences and expressing faith in the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the deaths.
He assured the families that he would take up the issue with the concerned authorities and ensure that justice is served.
He however refused to say much on the investigation process saying that it could hamper the work of investigation agencies.
“I am sure our investigation agencies are working hard and things will be clear but I don’t find it appropriate to issue any statement on the investigation process,” the MP said.
MP Mian Altaf Ahmed also interacted with the local residents, listening to their concerns and grievances.
He assured them that he would do everything possible to support the affected families and ensure that the investigation is carried out in a fair and transparent manner.
