Uri, Dec 15: Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri, the newly elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Uri constituency, held his first “public darbar” at Dudran village.
According to a press release, the event witnessed a large turnout of local residents, Panchayat members, and other stakeholders, eager to voice their concerns and seek solutions to longstanding issues. Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri interacted with the attendees, listening attentively to grievances ranging from infrastructure deficiencies to education, healthcare, and employment challenges.
In his address, MLA assured the public of his unwavering commitment to addressing their issues. “My priority is to ensure that development reaches every corner of the constituency and that no voice goes unheard,” he said. Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri emphasised the importance of community participation in the decision-making process and promised to advocate for better facilities, including road connectivity, electricity, and drinking water supply.
Officials from various government departments were also present to facilitate on-the-spot resolutions to grievances. Dr Sajad Shafi Uri instructed the concerned officers to expedite pending projects in the region and work in coordination with local representatives to ensure efficient delivery of services.
“Dr Sajjad Shafi, known for his grassroots approach, actively engaged with the attendees, listening to their issues and ensuring prompt redressal of several problems on the spot. Matters related to road connectivity, healthcare, water supply, and education were highlighted by the villagers,” the press release said.
Residents of Dudran village appreciated the initiative, highlighting that such direct interactions with their elected representative foster trust and accountability.
