Ramban, Nov 7: Kishtwar Police arrested a man involved in kidnapping and allegedly involved in gang rape case of a 12 years old minor in Atholi, Paddar sub division Kishtwar on Thursday.
Police sources said on Wednesday a class 7th student was kidnapped in a car and then shifted into another vehicle and taken to some isolated location in Gulangagh area of Paddar.
They said minor girl was physically assaulted and allegedly gang raped by the car and auto driver in Trinalla. However, on listening cries some passers by rescued the minor girl and informed Police.
A written complaint was also lodged by the family members of the victim at Police Station Atholi.
They said on getting information Atholi Police swung into action and arrested a man identified as Talib Hussain son of Akbar Hussain.
They said three persons were involved in this heinous crime. Police have launched a hunt to nab the culprits involved in the crime.
Sources said all the perpetrators of the crime are believed to be locals. The minor girl was admitted at District Hospital Kishtwar for medical treatment.
Meanwhile locals of the area have urged the police and civil administration to arrest all the culprits involved in this heinous crime.
Police have registered a case FIR number 25 of 2024, under relevant sections of BNS and 4 POCSO Act at Police Station Atholi, for further investigations.
A police official at Police Station Atholi, informed that raids are being conducted to nab the culprits involved in the crime.
