Rajasthan government‘s Social Justice and Empowerment Minister and Churu District In-charge Minister Avinash Gehlot addressed a press conference at the Zila Parishad auditorium on Saturday, where he presented details on the Rajasthan government’s decisions, schemes, budget announcements, and their implementation over the past one and a half years. The briefing was attended by MLA Harlal Saharan, Secretary Rukmani Riyar, District Collector Abhishek Surana, and other officials.
Gehlot stated that the government has been implementing policies related to agriculture, education, infrastructure, energy, health, and social welfare. He gave an update on the environmental campaign Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan, which includes plantation, water conservation, and renewable energy efforts. In reference to the recent incident in Jhalawar, where a government school building collapsed, Gehlot said that instructions have been issued to prioritise repair work of government schools, Anganwadi centres, and other public buildings. The fund allocation under Dang, Magra, and Mewat regional development schemes for such repairs has been increased from 15 percent to 20 per cent. In addition, MLAs can now recommend using up to 20 percent of their Local Area Development Fund for repair work of any government building, not just those built under the MLA-LAD scheme.

Departments also handled additional service delivery issues and public grievances at the camps.
He also provided information on various schemes implemented during the current government’s tenure. These include the construction of farm ponds and fencing around agricultural fields, upgradation of veterinary hospitals, installation of CCTV cameras in public spaces, enhancement of electricity generation capacity, land allocation for renewable energy projects, and approvals under the Kusum Yojana. He mentioned the distribution of scooters to female students under the Kalibai Bheel scheme, construction of government college buildings, road connectivity to rural areas, creation of new revenue villages, and distribution of tablets, laptops, and bicycles to students. He also spoke about skill development programmes, distribution of Swamitva cards, installation of solar-powered pumps, distribution of seed kits to women farmers, and construction of irrigation tanks. In the financial sector, he mentioned short-term loans by cooperative banks and the facilitation of loans for self-help groups under Rajeevika. He added that the government has also provided assistance under health insurance schemes, approvals for houses under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban), connections for household LPG pipelines, and arrangements for pilgrimages for senior citizens.
Gehlot concluded by stating that these programmes and measures are being carried out as part of the government’s ongoing administrative functioning.
