Tulmulla, Jun 3: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who paid obeisance at the Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal on the occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami, described the massive turnout as a good sign for Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring the unwavering spiritual spirit of devotees amidst challenging times.
In a powerful display of faith and resilience, thousands of devotees thronged the Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal on the occasion of Jyeshtha Ashtami, marking one of the largest gatherings in Kashmir since the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
ìThis is the first time after the heinous terror attack on April 22 that people in such large numbers have assembled at one place in Kashmir, LG Sinha told media persons here. ìMay Mata Kheer Bhawani continue to shower her blessings on the people of J&K.î
During his visit to the shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani, he interacted with the devotees and extended his heartiest greetings to devotees and members of the Kashmiri Pandit community, who consider the annual Mela Kheer Bhawani a deeply significant cultural and religious event.
The LG also assured the Kashmiri Pandit community members of due consideration and appropriate redressal of the issues highlighted by them.
He acknowledged their unwavering devotion and reaffirmed the administrationís commitment to ensuring their safety and comfort.
LG Sinha lauded the coordinated efforts of the district administration and all stakeholders for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the mela.
He also reviewed the progress of the Yatri Bhawan construction at the shrine and assured devotees that their concerns would be given due consideration.
The LG also highlighted the administrationís preparedness for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to begin on July 3. ìAll arrangements, including security and accommodation, are in place. Construction work at Yatri Niwas is progressing well. I appeal to pilgrims from across the country to come and take Babaís blessings,î he said.
Senior officials including Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri; IGP Kashmir, V K Birdi; and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore accompanied the LG during the visit.
