MUMBAI: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has transferred several senior IAS officers across various departments. The changes impact key administrative positions in excise, tribal development, women and child welfare, and municipal governance.
Dr Vijay Suryawanshi, currently serving as Commissioner of State Excise in Mumbai, has been appointed as Divisional Commissioner of Konkan Division, Mumbai. In a reciprocal move, Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, the current Divisional Commissioner of Konkan Division, will take over as Commissioner of State Excise.
Nayana Gunde, Commissioner of Tribal Development in Nashik, has been reassigned as Commissioner of Women and Child Development, Pune. Meanwhile, Vimala R., who was serving as the State Project Director for Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Mumbai, will now take charge as Resident Commissioner and Secretary at Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi.
Other key appointments include Siddharam Salimath, who moves from the post of Collector, Ahilyanagar, to Commissioner of Sugar, Pune. Milindkumar Salwe has been posted as Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Bhandara.
Dr Sachin Ombase, previously Collector of Dharashiv, will now take charge as Municipal Commissioner of Solapur Municipal Corporation. Leena Bansod, who served as Managing Director of Maharashtra State Co-operative Tribal Development Corporation in Nashik, has been named Commissioner of Tribal Development, Nashik.
Additionally, Rahul Kumar Meena, who was serving as Project Officer, ITDP, and Assistant Collector in Gadchiroli, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Latur.
These transfers come as part of the state government’s efforts to optimize administrative efficiency across key sectors, according to official sources.
