Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – In a decisive move signaling a bold new era for industrial growth, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has officially approved the establishment of a state-of-the-art Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0).

This ambitious project, strategically located in the Berasia-Bandikhedi area near Bhopal, is poised to become the cornerstone of a thriving new industrial ecosystem, promising significant economic advancement and the creation of numerous employment opportunities within the state.

The newly sanctioned 210.21-acre cluster will witness an initial investment of ₹371.95 crore.

The EMC 2.0 is designed to offer world-class infrastructure and robust policy support, effectively positioning Madhya Pradesh as a premier destination for both the electronics and rapidly growing semiconductor industries. This landmark initiative is anticipated to attract a wave of new investments, provide a significant boost to the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, and make a substantial contribution to the state’s overall revenue.

This project is perfectly aligned with the central government’s flagship initiatives, Digital India and Make in India, both of which are focused on strengthening the nation’s self-reliance in the strategically important electronics sector.

By establishing a robust foundation for the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector, the EMC 2.0 will play a crucial role in fortifying the domestic supply chain, significantly reducing the time-to-market for new products, and substantially lowering logistics costs for businesses operating within the cluster and beyond.

The Department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, will be at the helm of this transformative project, ensuring its seamless and collaborative execution. The vision behind the establishment of this cluster extends beyond mere infrastructure development; it is about nurturing a dynamic environment where innovation can flourish, and where the state’s young engineers and technicians can discover meaningful and rewarding career paths. This pivotal move signifies a new and exciting chapter in Madhya Pradesh’s ongoing journey towards becoming a leading technology hub in India.

The EMC 2.0 is projected to attract leading national and international companies to the region. With the presence of anchor units like Emerald Infraispats Ltd., the cluster is well-positioned to become a significant magnet for private sector investment.
