Actor and entrepreneur Aayush Shah, along with his sister Mausam Shah, the founders of Mumbai-based public relations firm Maars Communicates, have initiated legal proceedings against the directors of MyFledge Private Limited – Bishwajit Ghosh, Piyalee Chatterjee Ghosh, and Shabab Hussain – for an alleged cheque bounce amounting to ₹2 crore.

The legal action arises from short-term loans totaling ₹2,05,58,000 [₹10 lakh advanced by Mausam Shah and ₹1,95,58,000 by Aayush Shah] allegedly extended to MyFledge for business expansion, contingent on the promise of favorable returns, out of which ₹5.5 lacs were reportedly refunded.

The criminal case has been filed under Sections 138 and 141 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Maars Communicates alleges that cheques issued by MyFledge directors were dishonored with the reason cited as “Payment Stopped by Drawer.”

MyFledge directors have reportedly countered these allegations, claiming misuse of blank cheques and asserting that the full payment against the said cheques has already been made.

The Additional Metropolitan Magistrate in Girgaon, Mumbai, is slated to conduct a summary trial of the case, emphasising an expeditious conclusion within six months from the complaint’s filing date, as mandated under Section 143 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Aayush Shah and Mausam Shah have separate hearings scheduled before the Judicial Magistrate (First Class) at the same court. Court records indicate Aayush Shah’s hearing is set for May 13, 2025, followed by Mausam Shah’s on May 14, 2025, with both cases to be presided over by the same judge.

The case was filed and registered on April 2, 2025.
