MA Road Women’s College wins Volleyball tournament

Baramulla, Oct 17: Government College for Women MA Road Srinagar clinched the championship title in a three-day girls’ volleyball tournament, defeating Women’s College Baramulla in a gripping final at Indoor Sports Stadium Khoja Bagh.

The tournament, organised by 53BN CRPF in collaboration with Government Degree College Boys Baramulla, featured 12 college teams showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship. The victorious Srinagar team took home a cash prize of Rs 15,000, along with the championship trophy, while runners-up Baramulla received Rs 11,000 and a trophy.

“This tournament is not just about winning but also about learning the values of dedication, resilience, and teamwork,” said Commandant Ranjit Kumar Singh of 53BN CRPF Baramulla during the concluding ceremony. The event was organized as part of CRPF’s civic action programme.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo, Vice Principal GDC Boys Baramulla; Shabir Ahmad Khan, Chief Education Officer Baramulla; Nazir Ahmed Khan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer; and Commandants from other CRPF battalions in North Kashmir.
