Landslide shuts Reasi–Arnas–Mahore road for 4th day, cuts off Mahore subdivision

Rajouri, Aug 31: The vital Reasi–Arnas–Mahore road in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district remained blocked for the fourth straight day after a massive landslide at Dhaman Nallah, leaving the Mahore subdivision largely cut off from the district headquarters.

Mahore is a remote subdivision connected with the Reasi district headquarters through the Reasi-Arnas-Mahore road, which got blocked at Dhamman Nallah after a heavy slide and boulders fell over the stretch.

The Mahore subdivision is lying disconnected from the rest of the Reasi district due to the closure of this vital road, and normal life is badly affected throughout the entire subdivision.

Officials said that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), which maintains the road, has launched a clearance operation.
