Srinagar, Feb 04: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that attack carried out by unidentified terrorists in Behibagh village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district disputed centre’s normalcy claims in Jammu and Kashmir.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an even held in Jammu.
“Question to those who are beating drums in and outside Parliament that militancy has been wiped out and normalcy has returned to Jammu and Kashmir,” Dr Farooq as per Greater Kashmir said.
On Monday terrorists shot dead a former army soldier and injured his wife and a niece in Behibagh area of Kulgam district.
Dr Farooq said if terror activities are still happening in J&K then government at the centre should come clean on the facts. “The union government day in and day out are claiming that terrorism has ended in J&K. But this is not the reality. The central government should come clean on the situation,” he said.
While responding to a query, the NC president said that let the Delhi polls happen, everything will be cleared. “Previously they (BJP) were claiming they will sweep polls in Jammu & Kashmir, but what happened when results came out. They were claiming that they will emerge from upward and downward sides, but people showed them door. So let election to happen in Delhi, and results come out, everything will be cleared,” he said.
