KPs suffering due to contrary rules of J&K, Delhi state govts: Chrungoo

Jammu, Jun 21: Senior BJP and Kashmiri Pandit (KP) leader, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo Saturday rued that the members of displaced KP community were suffering due to contrary rules of Jammu and Kashmir UT and Delhi state governments.

He stated it during his meeting with B L Santhosh, All India general secretary (organisation) BJP at the party’s central office at New Delhi to raise burning key issues of concern of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

Chrungoo also alleged that the displaced employees of the PM package were receiving step-motherly treatment by the administration.

Santhosh, as per a press statement, listened to all issues patiently that were brought to his notice and assured that the issues would be taken up at the right quarters for their redress.

Chrungoo also presented a book, authored by him, titled, “Dev Vardutt Shaalan Kautasya -The Gotra of Chrungoo family” to Santhosh.

J&K BJP leader said that though the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community might not be electorally an important constituency due to their forced exile, displacement and dispersal but community members, who, he alleged, had been the “victims of genocide and ethnic cleansing in their homestead in Kashmir”, continued to be politically and culturally important as a civilizational unit

“The state governments in J&K and Delhi and the concerned administration at both the levels are not being seen as the benevolent friends of the community due to their terrible negative mindset and nasty work on the ground,” Chrungoo alleged.

“Common people among the displaced community are forced to run from pillar to post to get their small and big issues resolved by the concerned administration. The UTs of J&K and Delhi have made contrary rules and regulations governing ration cards; addition and deletion of names in the ration cards; bifurcation of families; issuance of various types of certificates; inclusion of the displaced population within the ambit of government’s welfare schemes,” he said.
