Batter K.L. Rahul will miss Karnataka’s campaign in the knockout rounds of the Vijay Hazare Trophy to be held at Vadodara.

It is understood that Rahul, who featured in all five Tests against Australia, has requested a break.

A call on Rahul’s availability for the second leg of the Ranji Trophy, which begins on January 23, will be taken at a later date.

Southpaw batter Devdutt Padikkal and pacer Prasidh Krishna, both of whom were in the Test squad in Australia, will turn up for Karnataka at Vadodara. Padikkal played the first Test at Perth, while Prasidh earned a call-up for the fifth and final Test.

Fast bowler V. Vyshak will miss the knockout rounds due to an injury.

Karnataka faces Baroda in the quarterfinal on Saturday.
