Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Jammu-Samba-Reasi constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma today chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting here in the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Complex Samba.
The meeting was convened to evaluate the implementation and progress of the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and other ongoing development projects in Samba district.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma presented a detailed review of the achievements under different CSS initiatives and highlighted significant progress in projects like the National Highway, Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and other key developmental works being executed in the district.
In attendance were DDC Chairperson Keshav Dutt Sharma; MLA Vijaypur, Chander Prakash Ganga; MLA Samba, Surjit Singh Salathia; MLA Ramgarh, Devinder Kumar Manyal; SSP Samba, Virender Singh Manhas; ADDC Champa Devi; ADC Jagdish Singh, and other senior officers from district and sectoral departments.
The MP, while conducting a comprehensive assessment, emphasised the need for timely service delivery to beneficiaries, urging the officials to expedite pending projects and adopt a collaborative approach with focus on inter-departmental coordination to resolve challenges. He emphasised on use of modern technology for optimal utilisation of resources to avoid delays and maximize efficiency.
MP Jugal Kishore Sharma directed officials to prioritize the resolution of issues raised by elected public representatives, which would help build trust and improve governance outcomes.
In his concluding remarks, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma reiterated the importance of achieving project deadlines and meeting developmental targets to ensure Samba remains on the path toward holistic development.
Moreover, to mark World Toilet Day, an awareness event was also held in District Administrative Complex Samba to promote the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in improving public health and livelihoods.
Highlighting the government’s commitment towards sanitation, sanction letters under the Individual Household Latrine (IHHL) Scheme were presented to seven (07) beneficiaries followed by a special Signature Campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma emphasized the need for collective efforts to achieve the objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The participating dignitaries reiterated the importance of public involvement in maintaining hygiene and ensuring a cleaner environment.
