J-K higher reaches likely to receive snow from tonight: MeT

Srinagar, Jan 15: The Meteorological department today predicted light snow at isolated higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during tonight and early morning of January 16.

An official of Meteorological Centre Srinagar said from January 15-16 there is a possibility of light snow at isolated higher reaches during tonight and early morning of January 16.

He said the weather will likely remain dry from January 17-19.

Overall nothing significant weather is expected till January 19, the official said.

From January 20-21, the weather conditions likely remain cloudy with possibility of light snow at isolated to scattered places, he said.

On January 22, there will be generally cloudy with possibility of light rain (in Jammu plains), and snow at scattered to fairly widespread places, the official said.

He advised tourists, travelers and transporters to follow advisories from administration and traffic department to avoid any inconvenience.
