Jammu, Feb 2: Islamic Model High School, Gujjar Nagar, Jammu Sunday celebrated its annual day with a colourful cultural programme on Sunday.
The programme was presided over by the Principal Abdul Majeed Rather. The proceedings of the programme began with the recitation of the holy Quran, followed by Naat recitation.
Following customary welcome address by Nooruddin Qazmi spelling out guidelines adhered to by the school for disseminating quality education to students, the school children presented a colourful cultural programme. Highlight was a performance by the children of the pre-primary wing. Dressed in colourful costumes, they enamoured the guests. Another highlight was a presentation signifying the importance of different sections of the society. The students played the roles of doctors, engineers, teachers, cleaners, labourers, policemen, lawyers, judges, shopkeepers, etc to convey the message that the society and the nation could progress only if everyone would work with honesty.
Students, including those from the higher classes, impressed one and all with their talent while presenting a cultural programme.
Parents and guests appreciated both the students and teachers for the splendid programme and congratulated the school administrators for fostering such critical thinking among students.
In his presidential address, the Principal of the school, while lauding the performance of the students, also appreciated the hard work of the teachers to ensure a successful programme. He emphasised the responsibilities of parents and teachers for overall growth of students.
Rather enumerated the school’s achievements in teaching and extracurricular activities last year. He congratulated the students and parents for excellent results in the board examinations while also lauding the hard work of teachers. Emphasising the importance of religious education, the Principal said that along with contemporary sciences, religious education was the need of the hour to tackle menaces prevailing in the society.
The annual day programme ended with the prayer.
