After sent into bat, Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen tormented the Punjab Kings bowling attack and took their team to a daunting total of 261 for 6 in the Indian Premier League 2024 match in Kolkata on April 26.

This was the highest total in IPL at Eden Gardens. It was in fact the second highest total for Kolkata Knight Riders after scoring 272 against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam on April 3, 2024.

Sunil Narine (71) and Phil Salt (75) started rapidly and took their team total to 138 in just 10.2 overs when Narine was dismissed.

Phil Salt was dimissed with the score at 163 in 12.3 overs. Then Andre Russell (24 off 12 balls) and Venkatesh Iyer (39) added 40 runs in just 3 overs. After the dismissal of Russell, captain Shreyas Iyer took on the PBKS bowling attack scoring 28 runs in just 10 balls.

Rinku Singh (5) was dismissed quickly. then it was Venkatesn Iyer and Ramandeep Singh to take their team past the 260-mark.

None of the Punjab Kings bowlers were spared. Arshdeep Singh (2 for 45), Sam Curran (1 to 60), Harshal Patel (1 for 48) and Rahul Chahar (1 for 33) were the wicket-takers.

Punjab Kings fielding was sloppy dropping as many as three catches.
