Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi masterpiece, Interstellar, is making waves at the Indian box office ahead of its much-anticipated re-release on February 7. With over 300,000 tickets already sold for its first week, the film has grossed more than ₹10 crore in advance bookings, signaling its continued dominance nearly a decade after its original 2014 release.

Despite a brief delay due to Pushpa 2, the overwhelming demand for Interstellar proves Nolan’s enduring popularity in India. The film is expected to face competition from local releases like Badass Ravikumar and Loveyapa, but its strong pre-release traction suggests it will have a successful theatrical run.

In Hyderabad alone, over 15,000 tickets have been sold at Prasads Multiplex, one of the country’s most prominent IMAX venues. The enthusiasm mirrors the success of Nolan’s previous films, as titles like Oppenheimer and Dunkirk of late, have also enjoyed significant attention from Indian audiences.

With IMAX tickets starting at ₹300, moviegoers are eager to experience the cinematic spectacle on the big screen once again. Box office experts believe Interstellar has the potential to surpass Titanic’s ₹20 crore earnings from its 2023 re-release, further cementing its legacy as one of Hollywood’s most beloved films in India.

Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Michael Caine, Interstellar takes viewers on a breathtaking journey through space as a group of astronauts seeks a new home for humanity.
